Roland D. “Jack” Lloyd

Roland D. “Jack” Lloyd, 92, died August 31, 2015 at Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge, Kansas. He was born on December 27, 1922 at Dighton, KS the son of Davie and Pearl Lloyd. 

He married Dolores Johnson on March 17, 1950 in Kingman, she preceded him in death on March 4, 2011. Mr. Lloyd worked as a salesman for BP&S Auto Parts in Cimarron and for Combs Auto Parts in Dodge City. He enjoyed restoring old tractors, camping, fishing and spending time with his family. 

He was a member of the Church of Christ, Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post # 1714 and the D.A.V. 

Survivors include a son Davie Lloyd; two daughters Kay Deaver and husband Denny; Norma Clare and companion John Martin all of Dodge City. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Alan, brother Percy and great grandchildren Dakota and Benjamin. 

Memorial Graveside service with Military Rites by Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714 and the KSARNG Military Funeral Honors Program will be held at Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Manford Koehn presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge in care of the funeral home.
