Willie graduated from Ness City High School in 1963. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served mainly in Ethiopia and South Africa. After his discharge he returned to Ness City and farmed and worked at the John Deere Dealership. He moved to Healy and started working for the Kansas Department of Transportation and in 1978 he moved to Dighton and continued working at KDOT where he served as Road Supervisor until his retirement. He enjoyed motorcycles, woodworking and collecting pens and hats. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Daughter- Connie Wagner, Brother- Gene Wagner, Sister- Donna Dossett & Granddaughter- Laramie Jo Smith
