GCCC Beats Indy in Explosive Offensive Show in a Weather Suspended Game-Audio
Independence, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – It was a crazy beginning to the 2012 Jayhawk Conference Football season for the Garden City Community College Broncbusters, as a lightening storm and power outage on Saturday night at the start of the game at Independence, caused a suspension of the game until Sunday afternoon. Only 4:17 had run off the clock in the opening quarter and the Busters had a 7-6 lead over the pirates when the game was stopped. Both began where they left on Sunday scoring early and often, but Busters prevailed in the 4th quarter coming from behind to defeat Independence 56-49 in a wild offensive explosion with 105 points recorded. Garden City Head Coach Jeff Tatum comments on his players performance and their determination even in the face of adversity on the road.
