Hays pitching dominates; holds Dodge bats at bay

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Good pitching always beats good hitting. Wednesday’s result proves that and then some.

Jake Wilcox was sensational, allowing just three hits over six innings as Hays beat Dodge City for a second straight night 4-1.

“Their lefty did a good job of keeping us off balance,” Head Coach David Flores said. “Now we have to bounce back.”

The Larks scored a run in the third and three in the sixth.

Dodge City pitcher Kody Jones pitched well, allowing just one run on four hits in five innings of work. But he gave way to Ulysses Ramos, who served up a two-run homer to Derek Birginske in the sixth.
