Kobach Plans to Use New Power in Prosecuting Voter Fraud
(westernkansasnews.com) Lost in the shuffle during last week’s budget battle was the signing of a bill by Governor Brownback giving State Secretary of State Kris Kobach the authority to prosecute voter fraud. Up until then the responsibility was in the hands of the county attorney.
Kobach describes the two most prevalent types of voter fraud.
Kobach says roughly 100 cases of voter fraud happened in the 2014 election. Many times people who commit this crime do so to vote in a close race.
Up to 125-thousand people in Kansas are registered here and somewhere else. The papertrail is easy to track afterwards, but it is not the only thing Kobach has to worry about.
Typically the adult children of the victim will blow the whistle on this crime.
