Water Vision Plan Taking Shape
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Last month officials conferred and presented their 14 regional plans for water in Greensburg as part of the Governor’s water vision. One concept was adding another reservoir. While Executive Director of Groundwater Management District Three Mark Rude is supportive, he knows the timing is not right.
Rude believes this process is just the beginning of the discussion.
A key component in blending the 14 regional water plans into one comprehensive vision is education. Rude just wants some coordinating between everyone involved.
As for the Ogallala, Rude believes what is being talked about will keep the Aquifer viable, but it could still presents a challenge.
Public comments will be taken shortly on all 14 regional water plans.
