Delores “Snookie” Stucker
Delores “Snookie” Stucker, 81, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
She was born November 10, 1933 at Dodge City, the daughter of Glen C., Sr. and Ina May (Lewis) Adrian. A lifetime resident of Dodge City, she worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for over 30 years and later worked for the Southwest Kansas Library System.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, was an avid reader, a great cook and enjoyed gardening and ceramics. She spent a lifetime enjoying her family and friends teaching them how to love, laugh, and live.
On August 23, 1952, she married James Stucker at Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1984. On October 25, 2003, she married Rolland Werner at Dodge City. He survives.
Other survivors include: her son, Dan Stucker and wife Kim, Kansas City, Kansas; her daughter, Marsha Hedlund, Oklahoma City; a step-daughter, Ann Henderson and husband Quinby, Lenexa, Kansas; a brother, Galen Adrian, Dodge City; a sister, Donna Shumard and husband Don, Dodge City; 3 grandchildren, Brooke Unruh and husband Heath, Reed Hedlund and Dani Leon and husband Jose; 2 step-grandsons, Nathan Henderson and wife Nila and Andrew Henderson; 5 great grandchildren, Asa and Ezra Unruh and Natalie, Ethan and James Leon; and 2 step-great granddaughters, Sarah and Rebekah Henderson.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, June Coffin, Norma Tyler, Louise Sowers, Iris Maser and Shirley Short, 2 brothers, Glen Adrian, Jr. and Gilbert Adrian and longtime companion, Vernon Gaul.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm Friday, June 12, 2015 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Fr. Wesley Schawe officiating. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will be in the Scroggins Mausoleum at a later date. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Thursday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
