John J. McLoughlin
John J. McLoughlin, 73, died March 10, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on September 20, 1941 at New York City, New York the son of John J. and Rosalind (Lang) McLoughlin.
He married Shirley Williams on January 7, 1983 in Cimarron, she survives. Mr. McLoughlin worked as the Human Resource Director and Multi Peril Under Writer for Cimarron Insurance company for many years, he also worked at the Dodge City Job Service Center and was Regional Manager for the Kansas Employment Services and was a Municipal Judge for Cimarron and Montezuma for over 30 years. John also served as Cimarron Fire Chief for many years.
He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Ingalls, Kansas; Youth Friend through Big Brothers and Big Sisters; Cimarron Rotary Club; Dodge City Kiwanis Club; Past President of Kansas Municipal Judges Association and was the current Santa Fe Trail Council Vice President of Administration for the Boy Scouts.
Survivors include wife Shirley McLoughlin of the home; son Scott McLoughlin of Derby, Kansas; two Stepsons Rome Witt of Minneapolis, Kansas; Marshall Witt of Anacortes, Washington and one stepdaughter Starla Irsik of Garden City, Kansas and one sister Virginia Sartorius of Wichita, Kansas. Mr. McLoughlin is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son J.J. McLoughlin.
Memorial service will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Fr. James Baker presiding. Inurnment will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. The family will receive friends at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Cimarron on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Santa Fe Trail Council of Boy Scouts or Kiwanis Eliminate Project in care of the funeral home.
