Kansas House Delegation Nearly Throws Rail Funding For a Loop

(westernkansasnews.com) Last year officials from Southwest Kansas and throughout the region pushed for a little more than 12 million in rail repairs to keep the Southwest Chief up and running.  This week Garden City Manager Matt Allen says the US House had to reaffirm their commitment to AmTrak.

What is puzzling is that Kansas House delegation nearly foiled all the success from last year’s efforts to keep rail by supporting the McClintock Amendment to pull funding.

The only representative to vote for AmTrak was Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.
