Law Get Shutout in 2015 Pre-Season Debut

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) If the pre-season opener was any indication the Dodge City Law Indoor Professional Football Team could be in for an exciting season.  In the Law’s first game of their second season Dodge City dominated the Four State Fusion out of Joplin, Missouri 55-0.  The Fusion looked to join the Law in the newly formed Champions Indoor Football once their arena is built in 2017.

Highlights

Law quarterback Josh Floyd was in mid-season form.  Floyd had all the time he needed in the pocket going 9-of-15 for 174 yards and five touchdowns with just one interception.  Returnees Mo Young and Brandon Venson both had touchdown receptions.  Young’s touchdown reception came on the Law’s first play from scrimmage on a thirty-nine yard strike.

Newly acquired Kingjack Washington who played with the Oklahoma Defenders last season and beat the Law during the home opener last year rushed 4 times for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Dominique Carson last year’s offensive rookie of the year in the Champions Indoor Professional Football League rushed 5 times for 53 yards averaging a little more than 10 yards a rushing attempt.

While the offense looked good, the defense looked even better intercepting the ball three times and adding three sacks.  The Fusion broke inside the Law 20 yard line five different times and failed to score.   Fusion quarterback Cory Rector went 5 of 15 passing for 28 yards and 2 interceptions.

Bryant Venson younger brother of the Law’s Brandon Venson had some early success running, but had a tough time as the game wore on.  Venson rushed for 57 yards on 21 carries.  The Law defense also scored two safeties on high snaps by Four State.
