Doctor: Firefighters Health is a Growing Concern

(westernkansasnews.com) After the recent passing of Garden City firefighter Ronnie Peek it calls into question the overall health of those on the front line. Firefighters help those who are most vulnerable, but can they be vulnerable themselves?  Exercise Physiologist Doctor Karlie Moore specializes in this area.

Moore knows adding to this risks are the requirements of a firefighter’s job.

So since the job will not change, what is being done about the problem?

Sadly not every firefighter does.

Moore says firefighters who are hypertentive are at greater risk for a heart attack.
