Butler football picked to win Jayhawk Conference
Wichita, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Butler Grizzlies were once again picked to win the Jayhawk Conference for the 2012 season. Butler has won 12 out of the last 14 conference titles. Coaches from the eight Jayhawk Conference schools that play football held their annual media day Friday at the House of Schwan in Wichita. Hutchinson was picked second. Dodge City and Garden City were both picked fifth by the conference coaches.
Two new head coaches made their first appearances at the media day: Highland’s Ryan Held and Coffeyville’s Aaron Flores.
The first practices are scheduled to begin late next week, with conference games starting the season Saturday, August 25.
