Police Chief Hawkins Attends Summit on Immigration in Washington
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The changes to the nation’s immigration policy hit home last week when Garden City Police Chief James Hawkins went to Washington D.C. for a summit on the topic.
Since police have very little authority to deport illegal immigrants, here is what law enforcement is pushing for.
A relationship is a two way street and Chief Hawkins learned more about what the federal government needs from local law enforcement.
Hawkins says there is no clarity on what to do.
