Closing Time at Bar Leads to Scuffle Between Customers and Police
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) An altercation between customers at Rosie’s Good Times Bar and Garden City Police started early Sunday morning when officers says they told one person repeatedly to leave the establishment and he refused. Officers eventually placed 25 year old Gregorio Gonzales under arrest, but not before five others were taken into custody accused of throwing beer bottles and attacking officers physically.
Two Garden City Police officers and two Sheriff’s deputies were taken to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment of injuries. All have been released. Police say the investigation continues and there’s the possibility of more arrests.
Listed below are the suspects arrested and charges they are facing…
25 year old Gregorio Gonzales of Garden City; 32 year old Alfonso Fajardo of Salina; 29 year old Jessica Guebara of Garden City; 31 year old John Gonzalez (unknown); 31 year old Steve Brown of Salina and 24 year old Cameron Taylor of Garden City.
Charges include
Inciting a riot; battery and aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer; interference with a law enforcement officer; prohibited acts in clubs or tavern and municipal warrants.
In another story, police are also investigating an attempted robbery of a man Friday night before 11 on 400 block of North Sixth Street. The victim says he was struck in the head with a pallet gun and identified two people, one a six-four black male and another 5-8 Hispanic man who demanded money. After a struggle the victim was able to disarm the two suspects who fled. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
