Effects Uncertain on Whether Falling Gas Prices Hurt Funding For Roads

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Many people argue that with gas prices so low the state is losing millions of dollars in taxes from money that was supposed to be generated for building and maintaining roads. At the local level, Garden City Manager Matt Allen is not sure he sees it the same way.

 

Allen know the argument is not going away.

Several Republican Senators in Washington have talked raising the gas tax. No word on if the state expects to follow suit.
