John F. Mobley
John F. Mobley, 70, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
He was born April 9, 1944 at Meeker, Colorado, the son of John Sidney and Lena (Harris) Mobley. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharge after serving 11 years. An Ensign resident for 31 years, he worked in the oil fields, farmed and at IBP in Holcomb until retiring.
He enjoyed watching Western movies, working outside and on cars, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: 2 daughters, Julietta Plowman and husband Gregory, Bucklin and Debbie Miller, Ensign; a sister, Sydney Thornton, Coupland, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Stamper, Laura Stamper, Jennifer Jones, Ken Gates and Kelly Marlar; and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 daughters, Patty Reeves and Laura Mobley.
Memorial graveside service will be 11:00 am Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Ensign Cemetery, south of Ensign, with Rev. Dick Robbins officiating and military rites by Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and Military Honors for the State of Kansas. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
