Arizona uses big inning to get past Rockies
Phoenix, Ariz. (westernkansasnews.com)–A four-run fourth inning propelled the Arizona Diamondbacks past the Colorado Rockies 6-3 Monday night in the series opener. Recently acquired Jonathan Sanchez gave up all four runs in the fourth, and went four innings and scattered six hits. Former K-State Wildcat Carlos Torres pitched three scoreless innings in relief. The Rockies got solo home runs from Josh Rutlege and Carlos Gonzales, and also saw Dexter Fowler drive in Rutlege for the third run for Colorado. Game two of the series is tonight, as the first pitch is scheduled for 8:40 central time at Chase Field in Phoenix.
