It’s official: O’Neil inks with Ft. Hays State
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–On Thursday, Trey O’Neil made it official. The Scott City Beaver signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Fort Hays State University.
A two-year starter and three-year varsity player, O’Neil averaged 21 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists, and led the Beavers to a second place finish in Class 4A, Division II in the 2013-14 season. He scored 31 points in the overtime thriller against Concordia in the state semi-finals, and helped Scott City to state championships in Class 3A in 2012 and 2013.
O’Neil will join former SCHS standout Drew Kite on the Tiger Roster. The Tigers continue to get quality in-state players, as they also signed Hays High product Brady Werth and Derby Panther Aaron Nicholson.
