Buster men steamroll KSU-Salina
Colby, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It was a major mismatch Sunday evening for the Garden City Broncbuster men’s team, as they saw 12 of 13 players suited up score in an 89-29 rout of the KSU-Salina club at the Colby Community Building.
Garden City was dominant from the very beginning, as they scored the games first 27 points in the first eight and a half minutes. KSU-Salina scored their first point with 11:09 before halftime, but the Busters scored the next 13 points before they scored their second. Garden City (2-0) led 58-10 at the break.
They would begin the first five minutes of the second half on a 12-2 run to lead 70-12, and coasted to a 60-point win.
Three Busters would score double figures, led by Tyrell Springer and Tykei Hallman with 16 points, while Richie Spiller dumped in 14. KSU-Salina got a team-high 14 points from Duncan Curtis.
Garden City forced 26 turnovers while committing only three, and outrebounded KSU-Salina 43-33.
The Busters will see a challenging schedule ahead, as they host the Buster Shootout Thursday, Friday and Saturday against Western Nebraska, Trinity Valley, and Independence.
