Buffs soccer loses defensive struggle; boys cross country WAC champs
Wichita, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-“We have to play 80 minutes,” said assistant coach Josue Negron. “We don’t wake up until someone scores on us. We can’t keep doing that.”
That’s been the message all season long. Unfortunately on Thursday, Wichita East took advantage of the lone Buffalo lapse in a 1-0 in the semifinals of the Wichita North Cup.
The deciding factor was a Blue Aces goal in the 20th minute. From there, East’s defense was absolutely suffocating-knocking away 16 Buffalo shots on goal.
The loss dropping Garden City to 9-4 overall. They will play in the third-place game Saturday at 9 a.m.
