Buster freshman named POW
Garden City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-When Danarious Graham first arrived on campus, there was chatter that this kid could be the next Nick Marshall. Well, he’s not Marshall, at least not yet, but boy has he turned some heads the first few weeks of the season.
On Wednesday, those spectacular plays paid off when the freshman was named the Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week.
“That kid is pretty special,” Head Coach Matt Miller said. “Once he cuts down on the mistakes, he’ll be unreal.”
Graham did make one mistake Saturday on the opening drive. He forced a pass that was intercepted by Independence defensive back Kejuan Daniels. But from there on out, he was nearly perfect. The freshman completed 14-of-24, passes for 208 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground-he tallied 98 yards on 15 carries and got the Busters on the board early with a 46-yard touchdown run.
Through four games, Graham has completed 61-of-121 passes for 898 yards and seven touchdowns, while throwing six interceptions.
