Garden City Police Investigate Weekend Bike Accident/Altercation with Handgun
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Garden City Police continue to investigate an accident Sunday afternoon on the 300 block of West Buffalo Jones.
Chief James Hawkins has been told by officers on scene that they believe 60 year old Noe Lopez was distracted by his cell phone resulting in the wreck with 91 year old bicyclist Castulo Rosas. Rosas has been transported to Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita.
Garden City Police officers report that they received a call of shots fired in the area of Third and Cedar Friday night. 33 year old Robert Savoy of Holcomb is accused of tailgating three people in another car that was driving south on Third. Witnesses say Savoy wanted to fight and then displayed his handgun. One of the occupants in the other car came out and tackled Savoy to the ground, then waited for police to arrive.
