Min Lee of Taiwan Wins Garden City Charity Classic

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Distance is not the only thing that 19 year old Min Lee had to overcome in winning the inaugural Garden City Charity Classic Golf Tournament at Buffalo Dunes.  Years ago, Lee needed some help to develop her love for the sport.

Lee finished with a six under-210 (3 under on the final 18 holes) a shot better than both Rebecca Artis of Australia and Jessica Wallace of British Columbia, Canada.  Artis had a chance to tie on the 18th hole, but pushed a 15 foot birdie putt off the right edge of the cup.  For Lee its her win on the Symetra Tour.   All this on a day that would have made most golfers uncomfortable.

Lee takes home a 15,000 dollar check.  The top 10 money winners on the Symetra Tour get a spot on the LPGA next year.  Lee entered the tournament 9th on the money list and is confident with this win that she will make it with only one more tournament to go.
