Three Die in Two Separate Accidents On Area Roads

Leoti, KS (westernkansasnews.com)  State troopers worked a double fatality accident on County Road 14 and County Road N two miles east of Leoti.  The wreck occurred in the middle of an intersection claiming the lives of 55 year old Ramon Holguin-Gonzalez and 5 year old Isaac Gonzalez both of Leoti.  The driver of the other car was 35 year old Brent Foster of Tribune.  He was taken by helicopter to a Denver hospital.

A head on collision Saturday afternoon at 3:30 claimed the life of a man from Wichita.  The accident occurred on US Highway 50 at milemarker 82 in Finney County near Pierceville.  56 year old Ronald Blatnick died from his injuries after being transported to St. Catherine Hospital.  44 year old David Peterson of Phoenix, Arizona was taken to St. Catherines.  Troopers are  trying to determine why Blatnick lost control in veering off into the other lane.

Two other accidents in the area…

State troopers were called out to an injury accident shortly after noon yesterday on a county road five miles northwest of Copeland.  A Silverado driven by 19 year old Carlos Fabian Loya-Maldonado of Montezuma rear ended a RAM truck driven by 50 year old Curtis Tyler of Copeland.  Both were taken to area hospitals.    

A couple from Dodge City was injured in an accident at US 56 and Road 110 in Ford County.  State troopers say the driver 78 year Glen Wentling failed to yield and struck the other car on its drivers side.  He was taken to Western Plains Medical Center.  His 76 year old passenger Evelyn Wentling was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Wichita.  The driver of the other car was uninjured.
