Storms Pass Through Western Kansas

(westernkansasnews.com) Heavy rains, quarter size hail, dangerous lightning and winds up to 70 MPH were reported from last night’s storms in Southwest Kansas.  Garden City experienced some flooding.  Police had to block off one lane at Five Points because of the high water. A mobile home unit north of Garden City was evacuated for a short time after a tornado was spotted in the area.

The National Weather Service also reported a semi-trailer blew over at 16 Mile Road and Highway 50.  The most significant rainfall was reported in Garden City where they received a little more than an inch.
