Two Die in Accident Sunday Afternoon Near Liberal

Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Two people died in a head on collision Sunday afternoon on US 83, 15 miles north of Liberal.  The accident occurred shortly before 3pm.  State troopers identified the victims as 32 year old Gabriela Cano of Hooker, Oklahoma and her 14 year old passenger Evelin Cano. 10 year old Nayeli Cano and the other driver 31 year old Travis Burgess of Turpin, Oklahoma were taken to Southwest Medical Center.

Saturday night a 43 year old motorcyclist from Leoti was involved in an accident with a deer.  State troopers say Rene Guerra wasn’t wearing a helmet.  Guerra has been taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
