Kelly resigns as Busters defensive coordinator
Garden City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-After just one season as Busters defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, Jeff Kelly resigned on Wednesday.
“Coach Kelly was offered the same position at Fort Scott Community College,” the school said in a statement. “We are appreciative of the service(s) Coach Kelly offered Garden City Community College.”
Kelly was in charge of one of the top defenses in the country last season-holding opponents to 24.9 points per game. That was good for 29th in the nation and third best in the conference.
“We wish Coach Kelly good luck,” Athletic Director Ryan Ruda said.
The search for his replacement is underway.
