State Rep Believes Gov. Brownback Made Mistake
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Those in politics always like to look in the crystal ball. This week Governor Sam Brownback signed the new $129 million education funding bill which includes stripping away teacher tenure. State Representative John Doll of Garden City made a statement during last Saturday’s chamber forum that Brownback’s approval of the bill could cost him this fall.
In some ways Brownback has been the victim of unfortunate timing.
Doll says a different, earlier version of the funding bill had support from 91 of 125 House members, but it died later on. Polls indicate a tight race between Brownback and his Democratic challenger House Minority Leader Paul Davis.
