Nationals pound Colorado behind 21 hits
Denver (westernkansasnews.com)–The Washington Nationals scored a run in the second through the sixth innings, led by a five-run fifth en route to a 12-5 win over the Colorado Rockies Tuesday night. Rockies starter Christian Friederich gave up four runs on nine hits in only four and a third innings on the mound, and took the loss. Dexter Fowler and Jonathan Herrera hit solo home runs in the fifth and sixth innings for Colorado. Washington collected 21 hits on the night. Game three of the four-game series is tonight. Josh Outman will be on the hill for the Rockies, while the Nationals will send Jordan Zimmerman to the mound in a 7:40 start at Coors Field.
