Stork Pays Visit to Lee Richardson Zoo
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Lee Richardson Zoo is happy about their newest addition to the Wild Asia exhibit. A new male Bactrian camel was born late last week to proud parents Mona and Khan. It’s the ninth calf both have brought into the world. The baby is 4 ½ to 5 feet tall and weighs 125 pounds. Bactrian camels are an endangered species with only 600-900 left in the world. Most of them live in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia.
