Busters in first; steamroll Adams State
Audio Highlights: GCCC vs. Adams State
Garden City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Two weeks ago, Brady Trenkle said that his team’s goal was to finish the first half of the season with only two seasons. Mission accomplished.
Jeremy Wilson scored 16 points to lead five Busters in double figures as Garden City coasted to a 94-48 at the Perryman Athletic Conference on Sunday afternoon.
“We came out with no energy; obviously with finals and Christmas Break coming up,” Trenkle said after the game. “But I like how we responded in the second half; these kids deserve a break.”
Despite his team’s slow start, the game was never in doubt. Garden City (13-2), who shot nearly 60 percent from the floor, outscored the Grizzlies 53-25 after halftime. And they did it with the reserves getting extended minutes.
The Busters also did something they haven’t done in more eight years: Win a 10th consecutive game.
