Walter “Leon” Nicholson
, age 71, passed away at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas on Saturday, November 23, 2013. He was born on March 31, 1942 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Walter & Montez Barnes Nicholson. A lifetime resident of Garden City, Kansas, Leon was a farmer until 1984, worked for Western State Bank from 1983 until 2012 and was currently working for Midamerica Millwright.
He was a member of the Garden City Church of The Nazarene and the Garden City Flying For Fun Pigeon Club.
On July 22, 1960 he married Earlene Hopkins in Chandler, Oklahoma. She survives.

- Twelve Grandchildren
- Barth & Stephanie Nicholson of Olathe, Kansas
- Nicole & Vince DeMoure of Wichita, Kansas
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Church Of The Nazarene in Garden City, Kansas.
Burial will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, KS.
Public visitation will be from Noon – 8:00pm on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the Church of the Nazarene Children’s Building Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
