Kenneth Darrell Gibbons
Kenneth Darrell Gibbons, age 66, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Robert J. Dole
Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita. He was born on November 16, 1946 in New York City, New York, the son of Darrell & Margaret (Dunne) Gibbons. Kenneth married Marie A. Mudget on October 26, 1985 at Garden City.
Kenneth moved with his family to Garden City in 1951 and he attended Garden City schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era and later served in the Army Reserves for 8 years. He formerly worked for Peterbuilt as a diesel mechanic later for the Finney County Road
Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and his coffee group. Kenneth was a member of Harry H. Renick American Legion Post # 9 of Garden City.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Gibbons of their home; daughter, Kayla Gibbons of Garden City; step-daughter, Leeann Vandeveer of Garden City; mother, Margie Williams of Garden City; 2 brothers, Robert Williams of Garden City, Kevin Dunne of Garden City; sister, Deborah Williams of Lawrence; 6 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday , at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 02, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
Graveside Service: 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 02, 2013 at Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Kansas.
Interment: Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Kansas.
