Several new faces to push for varsity spots for Scott City girls tennis
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Scott City will see some new players step up in 2024, as the three state qualifiers for Class 4A State last season have graduated.
Just one senior makes up of the girls tennis team, but a group of young players will look to push for the top six varsity spots. Scott City does have a pair of players from last year returning to the courts in juniors Finley Edwards and Kaylee Felker.
The Lady Beavers will likely be in Class 4A again this year, as they were able to host a regional last year. Their season gets started in a hurry, with a meet in Cimarron on August 29.
New coaches this year for the girls tennis program are Amy Felker as head coach and Shandi Westergard as an assistant coach. Around 17 players make up of this year’s team.
