2024 College football preseason top 25 staff picks

GARDEN CITY, KS – The sports staff for Western Kansas Broadcast Center put their heads together and released their own college football preseason top 25 poll with the release of the first AP Top 25 poll of the upcoming 2024 season occurring earlier this week.

Each sports director provided their top 25; Kolby Van Camp, Garden City sports director and host of daily sports talk show Training Camp, selected Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, and Ole Miss has his top five. Dodge City sports director Joe Blake selected Georgia, Oregon, Texas, Ole Miss, and Alabama in his top five, and Scott City sports director Adam Kadavy ran with Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Florida State, and Alabama.

Notably, the 2024 preseason poll is the first time in college football history where Kansas State, Kansas, and Missouri have all been ranked at the same time to open a season. Blake and Van Camp both had Missouri as high as #8, agreeing with the AP consensus, while Kadavy demoted the Tigers a few spots to #13. Similarly, Van Camp and Blake each had Kansas State ranked at #18, also agreeing with the AP ballot voters. Kadavy ranked the Wildcats as high as #15 in his poll. Lastly, Kansas saw three separate ranks from the WKBC sports staffers with Blake ranking the Jayhawks as high as #16, Van Camp in the middle at #20, and Kadavy approving the AP consensus of #22.

The college football season kicks off on August 31st.
