Scott City man injured in semi accident
Scott County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Scott City man was injured early Saturday morning in Scott County.
According to the report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2006 Kenworth semi driven by 33-year-old Christian Niemann of Scott City was southbound on U.S. Highway 83 at County Road 270, when he rear ended a 2018 Peterbilt semi driven by 22-year-old Carl P. Schutte of Scott City. The drivers did an avoidance maneuver to not collide in its lane of travel, and left the roadway to the right onto the emergency shoulder, before they collided.
Niemann was taken to Scott County Hospital for suspected serious injuries, while Schutte was not injured.
Both Niemann and Schutte were properly restrained.
