Scott City elevates Faurot to head girls basketball coach

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Scott City didn’t have to look far for their new girls basketball coach. On Monday, the USD 466 Board of Education officially hired Justin Faurot as head coach for the girls basketball program.

Faurot has worked his way to the top, serving as an assistant in middle school, before moving up this past season to the assistant role on the girls staff. He takes over for Amy Felker, who resigned after four seasons.

A 2017 graduate of Scott Community High School, Faurot inherits a team that is projected to return three starters, as well as several letterwinners on a team that finished 11-11 overall, and fell to eventual Class 4A State runner-up Wellington in the Sub-State championship game.
