Montezuma man dies in Gray County accident
Gray County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Montezuma man died Thursday morning as a result of a two-vehicle accident in Gray County, just after 10:30 am.
According to the report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2016 Ford F550 driven by 52-year-old Bruce Sonday of Montezuma was eastbound on Road GG, when he failed to yield to right of way of a northbound 2013 Kenworth semi driven by 69-year-old Everett E. Koehn of Ulysses. Koehn was northbound on County Road 10, when a collision in the intersection occurred.
Sonday was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City, where he was pronounced deceased. Koehn was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City with suspected serious injuries.
According to the KHP report, both parties involved were wearing seatbelts.
