Scott City dominates in GWAC Tennis meet

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Five Great West Activities Schools made their way to Scott City on Monday for the annual GWAC tennis meet that served as the final tune up for regional competition later this week.

Scott City would dominate the courts, winning the meet by 30 points over runner-up Cimarron. Cimarron and Goodland tied for third. It was the third time the Beavers won the GWAC meet.

Taking singles was Avry Noll, who defeated teammate Houston Frank in the finals. In doubles, Ayden Presson/Sage Stoecklein would win the meet. 

The top two placers in Singles and Doubles are selected to the All-League team. Noll was named the GWAC Player of The Year.

Class 4A schools Scott City and Ulysses will go to the Class 4A regional in Buhler on Thursday. Class 3-2-1A league schools Cimarron, Colby and Goodland will head to the regional in Ellsworth on Thursday and Friday.
