Garden City man dies in motorcycle accident

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Garden City man died Sunday night after a motorcycle accident near the intersection of 8th and Fair Streets.

 

Just after 10:30 pm, Officers of the Garden City Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Garden City Fire Department, and Finney County EMS responded to the intersection for a reported accident involving a vehicle and motorcycle and the motorcycle was on fire. When Officers arrived, they located 30-year-old Gabriel Enrique Reyes, in the roadway and attempted life-saving measures. Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The initial investigation revealed that Reyes was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Fair Street when he failed to yield at the stop sign and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on 8th Street. The driver and occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

 

The investigation is ongoing.
