Portion of U.S. 83B/South Main Street to close March 4
Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A section of U.S. 83B/South Main Street in Garden City will be closed to traffic starting March 4, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
U.S. 83B/South Main Street in both directions from Riverside Drive to South River Road will be closed to replace the U.S. 83B/South Main Street Bridge over the Arkansas River. The closure will be in effect throughout the project. Traffic will follow the signed detour using U.S. 50B/Fulton Street and U.S. 83.
Reece Construction Company, Inc. of Newton is the contractor on this $9.2 million project that is expected to be completed by the end of December, weather permitting.
