Hoxie leads 3-2-1A Boys after Friday; Wichita County’s Gardner into the finals
Salina, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It was a tough day for the area in the second day of the Class 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament inside Tony’s Pizza Events Center, as only one area wrestler made their way to the top six. The wrestler: Wyatt Gardner from Wichita County. Gardner is a multi-finalist for the Indians, as he was able to take his semi-final match to punch his ticket to the finals on Saturday.
Hoxie is in the lead heading into the final day, as they were able to push two wrestlers into the finals. Norton is in second with three finalists and Sabetha is in third, with just one finalist.
Wrestling begins at 9 am Saturday, with the consolation semi-finals on four mats, followed by the 5th and 3rd place matches, and the championship mats on three mats.
