Buffaloes’ Football Star Stays Home, Commits to Garden City Community College
GARDEN CITY, Kan. – One of Garden City High School’s top football talents won’t be traveling far to continue his football career.
Buffaloes’ cornerback Ethen Allen announced his commitment to Garden City Community College Monday night.
“Ethen Allen is a very good football player, with a ton of upside and potential,” Broncbusters’ head coach, Kiyoshi Harris, said. “We as a staff feel this was a huge get for us as a program along with a must get for the community of Garden City in general. “
Allen posted 81 tackles, three interceptions in his three-year career for GCHS.
“He started playing with a lot of confidence in his senior year,” Brian Hill, Garden City High School head coach, said. “I still think he has a lot of great football in front of him.”
Allen was one of Garden City’s best players on both sides of the football. He recorded a career-high two interceptions on defense, while posting 1183 all-purpose yards as an offensive skill position and return man.
“Ethen will bring athletics and versatility to the defensive back room,” Harris added. “We are proud to say that Ethen Allen is going to be a Broncbuster and will be able to play in front of his family!”
Garden City Community College had two former Buffaloes last season; defensive lineman Terrell Elliott and receiver Jerry Arteaga.
Garden City finished 5-6 in the 2023 season. The Broncbusters will open the 2024 campaign in August.
