Buff Talk, January 22
GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Buff Talk returned live at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom on Monday night ahead of a busy week for Buffaloes athletics.
Bowling has a pair of big invitationals, facing WAC rivals Dodge City on Wednesday before traveling to Wichita’s North Rock Lanes for a weekend tournament. Head coach Kip Nichols led off the show to talk about his team’s form going into their pair of games.
Nichols praised two student athletes for stepping up as leaders within their teams. Senior Kaden Strasser and junior Kylie Whitehurst joined in, revealing their respective reasons to get into bowling.
Girl’s basketball begins a three-game road trip tomorrow against the Goodland Cowgirls. Head coach Jacob Miller joined the show to examine his team’s first half of the season.
The group of girls has been very close, on and off the court. Seniors Kamdyn Carr and Miraya Martinez finished the show discussing their friendship on the court, and their bond before high school.
Thank you so much to coaches Nichols and Miller, as well as all four student athletes, for joining the show. A special thank you goes to Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom for their great hospitality.
Buff Talk airs Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. on 99.9 ‘The Rock’.
