GCCC Coaches Show, January 11th

GARDEN CITY, KS. – The Garden City Community College Coaches Show returned in 2024 on Thursday night, in the chilly conditions of Kansas, but the heated conditions of Jayhawk Conference basketball season.

Women’s basketball head coach Greg Franklin led off the show. Franklin discussed his passion for keeping up with his favorite Kentucky Wildcats during the hoops calendar, and how he’s handling his first Kansas winter.

Men’s basketball assistant coach Mike Harmon joined next to talk about the Broncbusters’ recent four-game winning streak. Harmon also discussed his time spent both playing and coaching in the Texas basketball ranks, including the four Texans on this year’s Garden City squad.

Two of those Texans finished up the show, as Paetow High School teammates Charles Chukwu and Elijah Roberts were also featured. The two talked about their individual experiences throughout the 2023-24 season, with both having to patiently wait for their turn in the Broncbusters’ rotation.
