Garden City woman injured in Finney County accident

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Garden City woman was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Finney County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patorl, a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 driven by 33-year-old Ivan R. Castillo of Deerfield was westbound on U.S. Highway 50, at the 2500 block in Garden City, when a 2003 Lincoln Town Car driven by 31-year-old Adriana E. Ramirez of Garden City began to slow down in front of Castillo due to the stoplight turning yellow, and Castillo struck the rear of the Ramirez vehicle.

Castillo was uninjured in the accident that happened at around 2:40 pm. Ramirez was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City for suspected minor injuries. According to the KHP report, there was one juvenile in the Ramirez vehicle.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
