Scott City Police arrest two in separate drug-related cases
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Police Department has made a pair of drug arrests in the past week. One occurred Wednesday, November 15, and the second took place the following night.
On Wednesday night, just after 10:30 pm, an Officer with the Scott City Police Department performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction. During the traffic stop investigation, Officers discovered evidence of drugs.
As a result of the investigation, Chanera Rose Bartlett, 27, of Oakley was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a driver’s license.
Bartlett was transported to the Scott County Jail and the case has been referred to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.
The second arrest came on Thursday night just before 9 pm, when Officers with the Scott City Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Court Street. During the investigation of an un-related matter, Officers observed evidence of drugs in the home.
Officers applied for and executed a search warrant at the residence a short time later. During a search of the home, Officers located distribution amounts of marijuana and distribution amounts of psilocybin mushrooms, and paraphernalia.
Tate Austin Roberts, 45, of Scott City was arrested for distribution of a controlled substance, manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, no drug tax stamp, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Roberts was transported to the Scott County Jail and the case has been referred to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution. Assisting with the investigation was the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
