Andale has won 59 of their last 60 games, and is the four-time Class 3A state champion, following a 46-0 shutout of the Hugoton Eagles last Friday night to open up the playoffs. A 22-point second quarter aided the Indians in the victory, as they had two interceptions returned for a touchdown in the first half. In their win, they held Hugoton to just 83 yards rushing, while rolling up 273 yards of offense, with 241 on the ground. It was their seventh straight playoff-opening win. This year, Andale is outscoring their opponents by an average of 57-11, and have posted three shutouts. Owen Eck has 715 rush yards and 13 touchdowns on the year, while Sam Harp has passed for 11 scores and 415 yards. They average under 300 rushing yards and just over 50 yard passing while holding opponents to just 40 yards rushing and under 150 passing yards.
Scott City won their sixth straight playoff-opener in a 51-14 win over Smoky Valley last Friday night. The Beavers took a 28-6 first quarter lead and never looked back in the win. The Beavers had another night a balance, with 286 yards, with 174 on the ground, and held Smoky Valley to 158 yards, with 151 of those rushing. Scott City had their first non-offensive touchdown last week, with a pick-six and a fumble recovery in the end zone by Collin McDaniel. The series is tied at one game apiece, with Andale winning 35-14 in 2018 in the sectional round of the Class 3A Playoffs. In 1991, they met in Andale with Scott City winning a double overtime affair 9-6. This will be the first meeting between the schools in Scott City.
