GARDEN CITY, KS. – Garden City had six different programs competing in state events within the last week. Buff Talk got to hear from one of those teams on Monday night.

Buff Talk returned for the final episode for fall sports on Monday at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom on Monday night. The Buffaloes’ fall sports were strong throughout the last few months, and finished the majority of their seasons last weekend.

Buffaloes Cross Country finished out their season in Lawrence on Saturday, with the boys team finishing fifth. The Buffaloes’ best individual finisher was Josiah Munoz, who finished eighth amongst the boys at states.

The senior joined the show first to talk about his strategy at states, and how he overcame an injury to turn his final four races into some of his best.

Cross Country coach Krista Linenberger followed up to discuss her team’s results in the second half of the season. She also gave a preview towards next season, a year where she feels very excited for.

Thank you so much to Munoz and Linenberger for joining the show. As always, a big thank you goes out to Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom for their great hospitality. Buff Talk will return later this month towards the beginning of winter sports at Garden City High School.
