GARDEN CITY, KS. – Late October means playoff athletics for fall sports at Garden City High School.

Buff Talk returned live from Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom on Monday to discuss a big week of athletics at GCHS. Last week featured key results for all teams, with ‘win-or-go-home’ games throughout the rest of the month.

One sport that already got their postseason journey rolling was Buffaloes volleyball. Head coach Trista Bailey’s team advanced to states this last weekend with wins over Wichita Southeast and Haysville-Campus at The Garden. Coach Bailey led off the show talking about her team’s big wins in substate.

Boys soccer clinched hosting a home playoff game following a 1-0 win over Wichita North. Head coach Jose Vital talked about his team’s important road victory in the season finale, and previewed GCHS’ home playoff match with Wichita West.

Football faces a tough road challenge on Friday to start their playoffs, traveling to Lawrence to take on Free State. Head coach Brian Hill wrapped up the show discussing his team’s preparation for the Firebirds on Friday.

Thank you to coaches Bailey, Vital, and Hill for joining the show, and a special thank you to Old Chicago for their great hospitality. Buff Talk airs live Monday nights from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on KWKR 99.9 ‘The Rock’.
